During its annual celebration, the Bryan School of Nursing Alumni Association honors alumni and other school supporters through an awards ceremony. Information about these awards can be found on this website and is also listed annually in the In Touch newsletter.
Contributions to the nursing profession or Bryan School of Nursing are recognized at the Alumni Day, where award certificates are presented. An engraved plaque in the College permanently displays the names of those honored. The Alumni Awards include the Alumni Service Award, Professional Development Award, Professional Practice Award, and Alumni Loyalty Award.
Each award honors a unique service or achievement; please read the following criteria listed below.
Alumni Award Criteria
Alumni Service Award
- The recipient must be a graduate of Bryan School of Nursing.
- The award recognizes the individual's contribution in the area of community and/or civic services. This contribution can include involvement in either one specific organization/cause or various areas of service.
Professional Development Award
- The recipient must be a graduate of Bryan School of Nursing.
- The recipient is recognized for his/her contributions to the Nursing profession in one or more of the following areas:
- Scholastic or academic achievement
- Research
- Publishing
- The recipient must be a graduate of Bryan School of Nursing.
- The recipient must display a significant contribution to the practice of nursing through his/her direct efforts and/or by the facilitation of quality practice by others.
Alumni Loyalty Award
- While the recipient(s) may be a graduate of Bryan School of Nursing, this is not a prerequisite for selection in this category.
- This award recognizes substantial, sustained services to the institution, including its students, faculty and staff, as well as its alumni. Loyalty can be demonstrated in the form of volunteer service or significant philanthropic support. Individuals as well as organizations may be recognized for this award.

Further Information about Awards
- While not required, recipients will be encouraged to attend the awards ceremonies, usually held in conjunction with Alumni Day each year, at a time designated by the Alumni Association.
- Previous recognition in one category does not preclude an alumnus/alumna from being nominated and subsequently selected for recognition in another category.
- The nominations committee will accept only nominations submitted on the appropriate form; this form is included annually in an edition of In Touch or can be obtained through the contact information listed below.
- Any alumnus/alumna, friend, or organization may submit nominations.
- Completed nominations must be submitted no later than March 31st each year. The awards committee may request additional evidence or information either before or after this date to clarify and or substantiate a nomination.
